2022 All Island Art Show

Monday, August 1 at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Registration is 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

The All Island Art Show is a longstanding tradition on Martha’s Vineyard with its beginnings in 1956. Artist’s from all over the island display their creative works around the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs surrounded by the charming cottages of the Campgrounds. For the artist the Show offers a venue for all Island artists, both professional and amateur, to exhibit and sell their work at a nominal cost to the artist; there are also many awards presented including the coveted “Best in Show” award. For the hundreds of visitors the Show provides a festive atmosphere with an opportunity to purchase fine art and meet the Island artists.

Artists must have an Island address and must be over 16 years of age. Each artist may submit as many as five original works which are displayed around the Tabernacle and reviewed by the judges for awards. (see Show Awards from the menu at the top.) The works are displayed in one of eleven categories which include: acrylic, collage, drawing & graphics, mixed media, oil, pastel, photography (Landscapes), photography (People), photography (all other), sculpture and watercolor. All exhibited works are available for sale unless otherwise noted. A nominal fee of $5.00 per entry is charged to display in the show.

Artists may also present a portfolio of their work on the grounds outside the perimeter of the Tabernacle. The portfolio will contain works of the artist and may include prints and printed cards. The number of works in the portfolio is no longer limited as long as the portfolio frontage does not exceed 8 feet. A nominal fee of $30.00 is charged to display a portfolio. The artist retains all proceeds from sales.

Registration for the show is on the morning of the event. If you are interested in entering the Show please go to the Call for Artist page from the menu at the top and fill out and submit the form at the bottom of that page. A Registration Form and Rules and Procedures may be viewed using the menu at the top.

Rain Date for 2022 is Tuesday, August 2 at same times.

Unfortunately the MVCMA has cancelled all events at the Tabernacle and that includes the All Island Art Show. Hopefully we will get back to normal in 2021 and you can join us then. Thanks for the note; it reminded me that I need to update the website.
