2014 Show is a Great Success

The annual All Island Art Show for 2014 was another great success with 87 Vineyard artists exhibiting their works at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs. The clouds and rain of the weekend dispersed just in time leaving a beautiful, sunny, summer day. The fine weather brought with it a host of visitors creating a festive atmosphere. Works of art were displayed around the perimeter of the Tabernacle in ten categories including acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor painting; photography, both Island scenes and general themes; collage, drawing & graphics, mixed media and sculpture.

First place, second and merit media awards were presented to the artists in each of the ten categories, along with eleven Vineyard Treasure Awards and many Special Awards. The Best in Show Award went to Marietta “Bootsie” Cleasby for her watercolor “Between Hope and Despair” (see Photo).
